Thanks to an error at a processing facility, debits against accounts at RBC Centura were multiplied by a factor of 256! So, if you bought a $10 lunch, your account was charged $2,560.

Needless to say, I was shocked when I woke up this morning.

Apparently, other banks were affected as well. Some people are reporting the problem has been resolved, but others are still way in the red (including ours).

Friday the 13th, indeed!

Taylor started attending “school” this week with a friend from church. She’s a teacher who has a room in her home setup just like a classroom, with a chalkboard, school supplies, wall decorations, etc. She is teaching Taylor and her grandson to get them prepared for kindergarten in the fall.

When Taylor arrived for class yesterday, there were numerous words on the chalkboard. She informed them that they would be reading those words today.

Taylor raised his hand and said, “I have a problem.” “What’s that?” she asked. “I can’t read.”

I love it. It’s still hard to believe that he’ll be in kindergarten in the fall. Seems like only yesterday that he took our lives by storm!

Charlotte is a little lady at the moment, with all the personality and spunk you can imagine. She is talking non-stop now and loves to pose for the camera.

This was a nice surprise. I’ve collected Superman stuff since I was a kid. I recently went and got all my old boxes from my parents’ house. I came back from work a few days later to find this in our newly finished bonus room upstairs:

Marie had taken some of my old stuff and set it out on display. It looks better than I ever would have imagined. She rocks.

Couch + Popcorn + Wall??E + Kids = FUN.

They loved the movie. It’s a testament to how good it is when a film with almost no dialog can completely engross a 2 and 4-year old for two hours.

Life’s just been so busy that blogging has been the farthest thing from my mind.

Apparently, 2008 was a pretty significant year. According to the morons I saw on TV last night, it was the “year on the brink.” Whatever.

We had a great year – Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family were terrific; our church’s renovation was FINALLY completed (and it looks terrific); I started a new job and we just had a great New Year’s Eve with friends and family.

My only regret is that the last quarter of the year was non-stop busy with a vengeance. Christmas seemed like it was barely here before it was gone. I’m committed to slowing down during the season next year (we’ll see how that works out).

Anyways, I’m happy, thankful and looking forward to a fantastic year!

Thanks Mom and Dad for giving me memories of music that actually means something.

Oh, and speaking of Mom and Dad, yes, I know that I had a crush on Sandi Patti when I was three years old.

We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

On the way home last night in the car, Taylor was staring at the crescent moon in the sky. After a few minutes, he very hesitantly said, “Daddy, I think the moon is following us.” As we turned into our neighborhood, he noticed it again and excitedly hollered, “Daddy, the moon is chasing our car!

Gotta love a glimpse into the mind of a child.

I thought about trying to explain it to him, but why spoil the fun? We proceeded to try to beat the moon to our house.
