According to Luke 2:7, Mary gave birth to Jesus in a manger (stable) because there was “no room for them in the inn.”
A modern day hotel chain is trying to rectify that mistake.
From December 24 until January 5, Travelodge, a U.K. hotel chain, is offering a free night’s stay to married couples with the names Mary and Joseph.
According to their website:
The ‘gift’ of a free night’s stay is to make up for the hotel industry not having any rooms left on Christmas Eve over 2000 years ago when the original ‘Mary and Joseph’ had to settle for the night in a stable.
I think that’s pretty neat.
