I have used Xnews as my newsgroup client of choice for many years. It has not been the most current or feature-packed newsgroup application for quite some time. So, why haven’t I switched to something else? First of all, I am a creature of habit. Secondly, I got to where I can work so quickly and efficiently in Xnews, that something would just have to blow me away to consider switching. Well, that finally happened.

Enter Newsbin Pro. I’ve known about Newsbin for a long time. In fact, I had installed and attempted to use it many times in the past, but it never did anything for me. I recently grew increasingly frustrated with a quirk in Xnews, so I gave Newsbin another try. This time, it “clicked” and I’m not looking back. Newsbin Pro is not free, but it is only $35 for life. I am a huge fan of using free software (such as Xnews), but I also believe in paying for a good product. At $35 for a lifetime license and unlimited upgrades, Newsbin Pro is a bargain.
