If you know me at all, you know I have a soft drink of choice - Dr. Pepper. Over the course of the last couple weeks, I realized I have an unhealthy relationship with the good Doctor. I recognized the fact that when Dr. Pepper is around me, I drink it. No matter what. Being thirsty is not a factor. Recently, we have not had Dr. Pepper around and I noticed that I was drinking a lot less. We had Pepsi, Sprite and numerous other choices, but I only drank when I was actually thirsty.
Imagine that.
So, for the next month, I am not drinking Dr. Pepper at all. Am I giving it up completely? No. Not in this lifetime. It irritated me when I saw how much I was drinking, so I thought I’d go cold turkey for a while. This is also not a health kick or anything like that, although the effects of drinking less can only be positive. Once the thirty days is up, I will begin drinking Dr. Pepper again, just not during every waking moment.
Dr. Pepper has a proud, noble history of providing exception refreshment and thirst quenching dating back to 1885, and I am a loyal consumer. I just need to consume a little less, OK, a lot less.
I’m on day 4 now and no withdrawals. I haven’t been curled up in the corner with the shakes. So far so good.

I feel your pain…I have the same unhealthy relationship with Coca Cola, but I have no intention of giving it up…you are brave!
