Right on, Zack! I am thankful to all who have served. My grandfather Emmit Sanford Williams fought under Patton in WWII. He was one of the many brave that liberated Buchenwald concentration camp. The stories are horrific, and that for a camp where most of the Germans had already run by the time the soldiers arrived.
I also had family in the Civil War. One in particular was William Summerfield Dobson. He was a Confederate soldier from Georgia. He fought at many of the major battles, including Gettysburg, and was alive and parolled out at Appomatix Court House. He live for many years after in a small Texas town which is now a ghost town (Audubon).
Thank God for people who are willing to put their lives down for freedom…
