I’ve been meaning to post a list of my favorite Firefox extensions. It was going to be a nice, neat Top 10 List, but then I realized, there are really only 7 that I currently use, so here they are…My Top 7.
1.) Sage – The best RSS reader I have ever used. Hands down.
2.) AdBlock – Easily configurable ad blocker is one of the best out there. Make sure you exempt sites you really enjoy though. Sometimes their ad revenue is vital.
3.) IE Tab – Great for when a page requires IE, like my web timecard system at work.
4.) Forecastfox – Places simple, unobtrusive weather updates in your status bar. Data is pulled from Accuweather.
5.) PagMan – Because Pacman is cool.
6.) WayBack – Want to see what that site looked like 5 years ago? Then the Wayback Machine is for you. This extension adds a quick and easy option to view the current page in the Wayback Machine.
7.) Tab Mix Plus – Great tabbed browsing extension. My favorite feature is a minor one that makes links from other applications open in a new tab. I hate clicking a url in an email or document and having my active Firefox tab/window hijacked.
The extendability offered by extensions is one of the best features of Firefox. I’d love to hear your favorites! Comments/suggestions welcome.
Zack, have you looked at a “certain” business site in the way back machine, very interesting.

Funny stuff. Hasn’t really changed much since 2003.

The del.icio.us extension. Hopefully someone will develop something familiar for Ma.gnolia.
The Web Developer Toolbar. The ultimate tool and possibly the ultimate Fx extension. I break sites all the time with this extension…just for fun and just to see who is still using tables for layout.
Fasterfox. I turn off prefetching and just use the page load timer. Probably an easier way to get that information, but it works for me.
SessionSaver. Couldn’t live without it.
Tidy HTML Validator. Love that green check.
IE Tab. I’ll second your mention–awesome tool.
I dig Sage as well, but had a few problems with it back in the 1.0.x days. Moved to a custom Bloxor installation and I’ve been using that since (it’s central, which I like) but somedays I miss Sage.
I’ve also recently started using MeasureIt and ColorZilla. Both aid in web design, but probably have other handy uses that I rarely explore.

Thanks for the suggestions, David. I am with you on the ma.gnolia thing. I had never used it until I read your post a couple weeks ago. I love it. I do wish there was a plugin like the del.icio.us one. Their “bookmarklets” are really not up to par.
I’ve never used Bloxor, but also only started using Sage in the last few months, so I might have missed out on all the problems.
SessionSaver looks great. I have been using Tab Mix Plus for session management, but I’ll give SS a look too.
I’m pretty “amateurish” at the web development stuff. In fact, I was never into it at all until recently, but I am hooked now. I am sure those extensions will come in handy.
Thanks for the great suggestions.

Didn’t realize Tab Mix Plus did session management as well. (That must be what “Plus” stands for.)
I will check that out.
Thanks for the great post.

FireFox extensions…
I love FireFox. I like the built-ins that come with it. The integrated Google seach (among other search plugins) is a really cool feature. As far as I am concerned, tabbed browsing is “da bomb”. IE 7 is suppsoed to be incorporating tab…
